Farriery (Level 3)

About this qualification: Farriery is a subject that legally requires the practitioner to have undertaken an Apprenticeship (usually 5 years) and become registered as a farrier. Farriers undertake significant elements of the Blacksmith trade but will undertake trimming of hooves, remedial work, making and fitting of shoes (hot and cold fitting) and supporting Vetinary Surgeons to shoe equines with issues, including gluing of shoes and dealing with common problems such as abscesses, thrush and laminitis.

Level 3 Qualifications are the equivalent of two A-levels.
